Join us from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th of January 2020, for the Ginger Flower and Food Festival! Now in its 24th year, the festival promises to delight the senses with three spectacular days of food, flowers and entertainment celebrating the best of the Sunshine Coast region.

The Ginger Factory will burst with colour and flavours, showcasing an exquisite range of ornamental gingers and heliconias, which thrive in the Sunshine Coast’s sub-tropical conditions. Popular presenters Soil to Supper’s Cath Manuel and Horticulturalist, Paul Plant will again share their words of wisdom during the informative garden talks over the three days.

The Festival will be packed with an exciting line-up of Sunshine Coast chefs, including local favourite, Matt Golinski and new additions, Lisa Maher from Makepeace Island and Dylan Campbell – resident mixologist from Sum Yung Guys. They will be highlighting all that is fresh to the Sunshine Coast and how these ingredients pair so well with ginger.

All the food and fun that the Ginger Factory is famous for will also be on offer, including their Ginger Town shopping, Ice-Creamery, Live Bee Show*, rides* on Moreton the ginger train and Overboard boat ride.

What's On

The Kitchen

Come and witness some of the Sunshine Coast’s most exciting chefs as they prepare ginger inspired dishes that will be sure to impress your next dinner party guests. We have a range of talented chefs and mixologists including Matt Golinski, Kelly Lord from the Spirit House and Dylan Campbell from Sum Yung Guys.

The Gardens

Visit the garden gazebo for some of the most highly sought after gardening tips and advice. This year’s lineup is sure to delight any home gardener.

The Nursery

With over 3000 of the most exquisite ornamental gingers & heliconias for sale, make sure you join us at this year’s festival. You can get expert advice on suitable plant choices for potting and planting from 9am till 5pm over the three days!

The Arts

This year at the festival you will see a wonderful installation made from recycled materials by creator Sophy Blake called To Bee or Not To Bee. Sophy will also be holding bee making workshops where you can take home your very own piece of art.

Witness our very own resident artist Sharon Wood create a live art installation drawn from inspiration from our lush tropical gardens with their vibrant flowers and greenery.

The Dining

This year we have a range of tasty, healthy and gingery options to choose from! Ginger Café  Fabulous food cooked to order.

Ice creamery  Enjoy an amazing selection of homemade ginger ice creams along with quick grab and go lunch options.

Taco Truck  Fast and healthy ginger and beef tacos to go. Iced Tea Bar Tea Tonic’s fabulous range of flavoured teas.

Meet the Makers

Visit our tasting room between 10am and 4pm daily to meet the makers and sample a delicious array of products showcased by our local food producers.

During the festival enjoy shopping at the following wonderful stores – Traditional Herbs & Scents, Giuseppe’s Workshop, Macadamia & Co, The Ginger Shop, Kokopod, plus specialty pop up shop with Tea Tonic, Beautiful Bags and Amrita Park Meadery!

The Entertainment

Join our mystical  Woodland Nymphs for a stroll through our Ginger Factory rainforest. Plus Dame Edna Average will be wandering around the festival so make sure you say hello possum!
