Fire up your tastebuds... the famous Ginger Factory at Yandina is set to showcase the best of Sunshine Coast food featuring chefs from the Coast's leading restaurants and top local food producers. The second annual "Festival of Food" will be held on Sunday October 16 with a line-up of events sure to delight food lovers from near and far. Just imagine – Tasting gourmet delights from the Sunshine Coast’s favourite food companies, soaking up the knowledge of award winning chefs and taking home an array of delicious local goodies from the market stalls and shops. Said Ginger Factory Tourism Manager Nichole Seymore, "This year’s festival demonstrates the quality and diversity of food that Sunshine Coast locals can produce. Our feature program combines the talents of award winning chefs with some of the more unusual produce made right here on the Coast" Among the line-up are: Andrew Strange of Ellmo's of Ocean Street, John Guy of The Spirit House and Dale Scott from The Dilly Bag. Presentations will feature bush tucker, cheese making and bee-keeping demonstrations as well as signature dishes from local restaurants. The Ginger Factory’s Festival of Food will also see the launch of “A Gourmet Odyssey” from local author, Petra Frieser. From Noosa to Mooloolaba, this spectacular publication tells the stories of Sunshine Coast food producers and features their products in fantastic recipes to try at home. ““A Gourmet Odyssey” offers far more than just local recipes,” said Ms Seymore. “This book demonstrates the qualities of a food industry that is unique to this area and the reason why so many choose to visit the Sunshine Coast. Many of the market stall holders and presenters at the festival are featured in this publication and the launch will be a highlight of the day.” Buderim Ginger Festival of Food activities will run from 9am to 5pm on Sunday October 16th at the Ginger Factory in Yandina.
